Entelechon is a founding member of IASB

Entelechon is a proud founding member of the International Association Synthetic Biology (IASB). IASB is dedicated to fostering and promoting Synthetic Biology as an exciting new academic and industrial field. As IASB member, we aim at developing new approaches in Synthetic Biology. As a responsible and ethical organization, Entelechon fully supports IASB’s activities which address biosafety and biosecurity concerns in Synthetic Biology.

“With our membership and our contributions to the development of a Code of Conduct as well as technical solutions, we support IASB’s efforts to maintain the safety and security of Synthetic Biology”, says Markus Fischer, managing director of Entelechon.

Entelechon already implements biosecurity measures aimed at with the currently discussed Code of Conduct. For instance, all incoming orders for synthetic genes are screened for potentially hazardous, export-controlled or risk-associated sequences, such as toxins. Entelechon is actively engaged in further improving and developing screening solutions.
