Biosecurity
Entelechon is co-founding member of the Industry Association Synthetic Biology (IASB).
IASB is a consortium of biotech companies whose products and services are related to synthetic biology. The main focus of IASB is the promotion of synthetic biology as an academic and industrial field.
In addition, IASB is concerned with questions of bioethics and biosecurity raised by synthetic biology. Entelechon plays a major role within IASB in the development and improvement of technical solutions for increased biosecurity such as DNA sequence screening.
An important part of IASB’s activities is the cooperation with public authorities and international councils in order to control the access to artificial sequences and biomolecules with an innate biosecurity risk.
As a member of IASB, Entelechon is fully committed to biosecurity and biosafety. We have implemented strict standard operating procedures for the detection of biosecurity and biosafety risks in incoming gene and protein sequences, and have implemented a code of conduct that ensures that no risk-associated biological material is shipped to non-legitimate users.
