Locust data collection
In Locust, you specify one or more folders on your harddrive and/or on your local network. Locust continually monitors these folders and imports new files as DNA and protein sequences, based on a user-editable filtering system.
For instance, sequences could be defined based on file name extensions (such as .gb and .fasta), on the file name itself (if your organization uses a consistent naming convention for sequences) or a combination of several other parameters.
Newly found sequences are presented in a summary report which you can access via the web interface or have being sent to your email account.
Since sequence collection is automatic, you don’t have to worry about updating and curating the database – just start searching for sequences!
